Tour description
The tour begins in the village of Landl in the municipality of Thiersee. The first climb to Riedenberg is steep but manageable, as it’s on asphalt. Since the road ends in Riedenberg, the route is relatively traffic-free. Just before reaching the hamlet, you leave the asphalt and from this point on, ride entirely on gravel until just before the end. The path runs peacefully along the Ellbergbach stream, gently downhill to the Kaiserhaus. From there, the route follows the Brandenberger Ache upstream with occasional glimpses into the gorge. The climb ends definitively at the Elendsattel at 1,143 meters. With views of the steep northern faces of Hinteres Sonnwendjoch, the route follows the Elendbach downhill into the Kloo-Ascher Valley and across the German-Austrian border at Ursprung, returning to Landl.
